About Sturgeon Point Marina

A Family Marina Serving Wasaga Beach Since 1962

Sturgeon Point Marina has been a trusted part of the Wasaga Beach boating community for more than 60 years. Located on the Nottawasaga River with easy access to Southern Georgian Bay, our marina has grown from a small riverside operation into a full-service family-run marina serving boaters from across the region.

Founded in 1962 by Art Millen, a retired Supertest Construction Contractor, Sturgeon Point Marina began as a modest facility at the mouth of the Nottawasaga River. Built on hard work, honesty, and a passion for boating, the marina quickly became a valued destination for local boaters.

In September 1968, Art sold the business to his mechanic and friend, Bob Holley. At just 19 years old, Bob took ownership of the marina and began a journey that would shape Sturgeon Point Marina for generations to come.

The Holley Family Legacy

Taking over a marina at nineteen was no small challenge. Bob's parents, Jack and Doris Holley, provided both financial support and countless hours of hard work to help build the business. Jack, a retired Air Canada Captain and one of Toronto's most senior pilots, played an important role in helping the marina grow during its early years.

In 1974, Bob married Susan Gurton, who became an integral part of the family business and its continued success. Together, they helped transform Sturgeon Point Marina into the thriving operation it is today.

Over the decades, the marina expanded from a small riverside property into a facility spanning more than five acres with multiple service buildings, modern amenities, and one of the busiest marine repair shops in the area.

Built on Experience

Our approach has always been simple: provide honest advice, quality workmanship, fair pricing, and exceptional customer service.

Because of Bob's lifelong passion for engines and marine mechanics, the service department became the heart of the marina. Today, that tradition continues with his sons, Charlie and Eddie Holley, who share the same dedication to solving problems and keeping customers on the water.

Whether it's routine maintenance, seasonal service, engine diagnostics, major rebuilds, drive repairs, fiberglass restoration, floor and transom replacements, or custom marine projects, our team takes pride in handling jobs that many others won't.

We believe every repair deserves careful attention, clear communication, and practical solutions. That's why we take the time to explain repair options and help customers make informed decisions about their boats.
